Who is M&M Direct Care?
M&M Direct Care is an innovative and ambitious care company, established by registered nurses to assist with the ever growing need for top quality care in our locality. Our principal priority is to assist you and your loved one in any way we can. From our collective experience we understand the importance of availing of quality services, and how the same can be life changing. We pride ourselves upon offering individualised care to suit all service users, permitting us to obtain holistic care for all. Our teams' characteristics of competence, compassion, empathy and diligence knows no bounds.
M&M Direct Care provides care and support services to clients in their own homes across Newry and Mourne. We pride ourselves on doing things differently, through ensuring we have a culture of looking after care staff and adopting new technologies to improve the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate and well led services – in line with the standard set out by the care regulator in Northern Ireland, The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA). We look after anyone aged 18 and over, and with a range of support needs and medical conditions from physical disabilities to frailty care (See our "What we Do" page for more)

Julia Mulligan
Responsible Individual
Julia is a dedicated Registered Nurse (NMC) and the Responsible Individual for M&M Direct Care LTD, bringing extensive medical and surgical expertise to her leadership role. She specializes in supporting elderly and vulnerable individuals across nursing homes and home care settings, focusing on stroke rehabilitation, dementia care, oncology, and palliative support.
As the Registered Individual, Julia oversees all regulatory compliance and quality assurance frameworks for the organization. She acts as the primary liaison with care regulators, ensuring that clinical practices strictly align with national standards and statutory requirements. Known for her advanced wound management skills, Julia combines clinical excellence with a holistic, patient-centered approach. Her dual expertise in hands-on clinical care and governance guarantees that M&M Direct Care LTD delivers services with the highest standards of safety, empathy, and professionalism.
Mark Mulligan
Operations & Business Development
Mark is a highly accomplished Registered Nurse actively registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), leveraging extensive Intensive Care Unit (ICU) clinical expertise to drive operations and business development. His diverse critical care background encompasses managing complex neurological, oncological, and respiratory conditions, alongside specialized Palliative and End-of-Life (EOL) care.
Mark’s healthcare career began in the private ambulance sector, where he managed critical patient logistics, including clinical appointments, ward transfers, and hospital-to-home discharges. This unique foundational experience provides him with a comprehensive understanding of patient pathways, operational efficiency, and healthcare logistics. By seamlessly blending acute clinical precision, NMC-regulated professionalism, and strategic commercial oversight, Mark optimizes service delivery, streamlines care operations, and accelerates business growth while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Anne-Marie McShane
Registered Manager
Anne Marie is a highly experienced Registered Nurse, actively registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), who serves as the Registered Manager, bringing a robust background in Accident & Emergency (A&E) nursing to her leadership role. Her extensive clinical expertise spans acute surgical, medical, and stroke care, where she has consistently demonstrated a proven capability to manage complex, time-critical, and urgent medical situations.
As the Registered Manager, Anne Marie holds legal accountability for the day-to-day frontline operations, ensuring the service maintains absolute compliance with national care standards and regulatory frameworks. Her emergency care capabilities are uniquely complemented by her extensive experience in both residential nursing homes and home care environments, allowing her to deliver seamless, continuous patient pathways. Characterized by her dynamic clinical approach and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, Anne Marie provides the vital leadership necessary to ensure the organization responds with absolute efficiency, safety, and speed to both routine and emergency care needs.
